Tools on time management can be of great value supporting you changing your behavior and habits. With the emergence of web 2.0 technologies a lot of websites mushroomed which help us becoming more efficient. Through my research and the comments of my readers, I made a collection of Internet based time management tools which I found particularly useful. I don’t get any benefit from these sites - its just that I liked them and therefore recommend them:

1) Setting goals and sharing them with others:

Most of these tools are build around the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology. You can manage your action items from your computer or a mobile device. The main differences are in the complexity and user friendliness.

4) Creating & managing checklists:

To-do lists are very powerful to manage project tasks but do not really justify the maintenance effort for recurring routine tasks. Gubb is a simple and straight forward tool to manage multiple checklists and its free.

Taking notes is important to remind us of something or to document our ideas. Since we never know when and where we will have an idea, we need a tool that works everywhere. For some people this is the traditional paper note pad. For the techies it is evernote. This is a web-based tool that allows taking notes from any  PC or mobile phone using the keyboard, photos or voice and that synchronizes all devices of the Internet cloud.

Nowadays we have to keep learning our whole life and we need to assimilate new knowledge in short time. Books remain a major source of new knowledge. When reading for pleasure it also is difficult to choose amongst the thousands of new books published every month.

These three sites are my favorites for cataloguing my books. Besides making it a great site to administrate when I already read and what I still want to read, I can share book recommendations with others. People who read similar books as me might have other books I like but don’t know yet in their libraries.
