Prepare a detailed travel itinerary which includes the following information for every day:

  • Flight / train number, departure and arrival time, terminal, etc.
  • Hotel name and address as well as telephone number and reservation number
  • Each meeting and its location as well as your contact person’s mobile phone number

Print the itinerary and carry it in your hand-luggage. An electronic version is not enough since you need to be able to access it anytime and anywhere regardless of the status of your mobile devices’ battery life.

I agree about the electronic version not being enough. I go one step further….if I am organized….I give a hard copy to my traveling companion, in case in the hustle bustle of travel, I loose my own.
I also like to leave a hard copy at home.

When you have to do travel plans yourself, it is always a challenge for me to have my flight, hotel and car information all organized ..and accurate confirmation numbers…especially when I book through discount brokers.
